Exhibition “Intelligences: Different by Nature"

Hong-Kong

Science

Join us for the 5th Fête de la Science in Hong Kong! This year’s theme is multiple forms of intelligence.
In 2025, the Fête de la Science will be held around the world from 3 to 13 October.

AI has become a central topic in science and technology, with major breakthroughs. With this in mind, the theme ‘Intelligence(s)’ has been chosen in connection with the AI Summit, which brought together the main international players in artificial intelligence and the French technology ecosystem, and was held in Paris on 10 and 11 February 2025. Beyond AI, the Fête de la Science invites us to explore different forms of intelligence.

Every day, the news highlights the performance and dangers of the spectacular development of artificial intelligence (AI). At the heart of fierce global competition, AI is making its mark in every field, paving the way for a new revolution. Now more intelligent than man, could machines one day surpass him? But what kind of intelligence are we talking about? The 2025 edition of the French Festival invites the public to explore all forms of intelligence and to rethink what it means to be intelligent, beyond human boundaries.

The festival is organised by the Consulate General of France in Hong Kong and Macau in collaboration with the Hong Kong Science Museum, which will host the inaugural conference, exhibition and workshops.

From Friday 3 to Wednesday 29 October: Exhibition “Intelligences: Different by Nature"

This interactive exhibition will be open to the general public at the Hong Kong Science Museum throughout the Science Festival from 3 to 13 October, and will remain at the Science Museum until 29 October! This exhibition will also feature animal specimens from the Hong Kong Biodiversity Museum.

It takes an open approach to the concept of intelligence: the ability to solve problems in innovative ways. The areas covered range from the simplest living things (such as blobs and bacteria) to the most complex animal organisms (particularly in terms of collective intelligence), from human intelligence to new forms of artificial intelligence. Any a priori definition of intelligence is necessarily open to debate.
The exhibition gives visitors the information and experience they need to form their own opinions.
